I liked the repetitiveness of some of the passages because it made it easier for my first grader to read on his own. It made all three of my older children laugh. What was particularly special to me was that I got to share a book written by a child author who was not too much older than my own children. Many times kids think things like writing a book are just for adults, so to be able to show a finished product written and published by a child was great. I am considering donating this book to my son's classroom for his teacher to use to motivate her students. I plan to keep it for a bit because my three year old especially has latched onto it, but I would love to see it shared with an even wider audience.
The illustrations look like they may have been created with a computer. I hope it inspires my children to think about writing more. Mar 01, Kristi Books and Needlepoint rated it liked it. Another cute book by Dalton James. My son and I had shared his first two books The Sneakiest Pirates and The Heroes of Googley Woogley and I had showed him the picture of Dalton, who I believe is 8, and explained that he had written the books and drew the pictures.
He was very excited when he found out that The Mudhogs was also by Dalton. He asked questions about the pictures all the way through the book and even started to recognize the phrases, No Rain, No Mud. I continue to be impressed by Another cute book by Dalton James.
I continue to be impressed by the imagination of Dalton, both in his story lines and his illustrations. Not only does this book have a cute lesson, it is also a good incentive to get younger kid's creative juices flowing.

Mar 22, VegasGal rated it it was amazing Shelves: read It's hard not to enjoy any book written by child author, Dalton James, this one included. With a simple, humorous plot that will engage children from the start and ends with a great learning conclusion, he has a wonderfully creative knack for storytelling at such a young age.
His books are definitely recommended for children, who knows, maybe your child will be encouraged by Dalton's accomplishments, and will be eager to publish a book too.
